With less than five weeks to go,
many are eagerly awaiting the Song for Europe final on the 3rd of
February. In 2006, Malta obtained the worse result ever in the history
of its participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. The winner of the
2007 Malta Song for Europe will have no easy feat to garner what
Fabrizio Faniello did not manage to achieve last year.
This year’s Malta winner will also have to make it through the ESC semi
final scheduled for the 17th May before he or she can make it to
perform in the actual contest on the 19th May. The only time Malta had
to participate in the semi final was back in 2004 when Julie and Ludwig
had to make up for Lynn Chircop’s placing.
The MaltaMedia team wishes all participants goodluck whilst it hopes
that the 2007 winner follows in the pattern of Lordi. The latter had
not only made it through the semi final but also went on to win the
2006 Eurovision Song Contest.
The MaltaMedia Online Network is making audio clips of the 16 Malta
Song for Europe songs available on its Eurovision website. Eurovision
fans can start appreciating the songs and singers which could
potentially be Malta’s salvation for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.
The audio clips can be previewed

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the 16 songs will also be previewed on TVM’s
Showtime. The programme will also feature interviews with the semi finalists.
