As part of the first anniversary celebrations at Mediterranean Vocal Studio (MSV) Malta, a showcase is being held at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta on Tuesday at 1930 CET.
MSV Malta is synonymous with the legendary American Speech Level Singing (SLS) technique. In fact, the studio brought this technique to the island eighteen months. Twenty-five local singers, amongst them Ira Losco, NV, Jordan Cutajar lead singer from Frenzy Mono, Barsesine, Jay Omaro, Sophie, are studying this technique under the vigilant eyes of professional British voice coach Ms Heather Baker.
At the showcase, MVS Malta will also be announcing various surprises for all local singers. Tickets are out. For more details, contact the Manoel Theatre Booking office on 21 246 389.
The SLS technique has made a significant difference to the Maltese singers training at MVS Malta. A clear example of the success this technique creates are Ira Losco's comments at a recent interview. "This year has been an amazing year for me where I had a lot of important engagements. Whilst performing with the likes of Claudio Baglioni, Gigi D'Alessio and not to mention the MTV gig last summer, I had to be in tip top shape vocally. And thanks to SLS technique, MVS Malta and their professional voice coach Ms Heather Baker, I was in a great vocal condition and enjoyed each and every gig."
Another important event that MVS Malta is organising as part of these anniversary celebrations is a discussion seminar conducted by Sir Harry Cowell and Miss Lou Mullen, Managing Director and top songwriter at UK Company 'Private and Confidential Music Group'. Miss Heather Baker will also conduct the seminar titled 'Artist Discovery and Development - Past and Present’. This seminar will be held on Wednesday from 1700 CET at The Coastline Hotel, Salina.
