The six semi-finalists for the MaltaSong for
Europe 2007 were revealed on Thursday night, with voters and a judges panel choosing
their favourites among sixteen songs. The semi-finalists will participate in
the MaltaSong for Europe final round on Saturday night, with the winner representing
Malta
at the Eurovison Song Contest.
The songs that made it into the semi-final, in the following running order, are
"Whenever" by Kevin Borg, "She Gives Me Wings" by Klinsmann Coleiro,
"As Long As You Know" by SCAR, "Vertigo" by Olivia Lewis, "All About A
Life" by Pamela and "Starlight" by Trilogy. The semi-finalists were annouced briefly after 2345CET. The amount of points each song obatined on Thursday was not revealed as to not influence the final result.
Televoting lines remained active for 30 minutes after festival
hosts J Anvill and Stephanie Spiteri declared them open soon after all artists had performed
their respective songs. As voters and judges decided upon their favourite songs, varioius acts took to stage, among them rock band Winter Moods, followed by the Yada Dancers who performed to a 70's and 80's medely.
