Morena will be competing in the second session of the two semi-finals for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade. Malta's entry will be performed on Thursday 22 May. For the first time in Eurovision history, the semi-finals will be held over two evenings this year, on Tuesday 20 and Thursday 22 May.
All those countries taking part in the semi-finals were drawn by lot in Belgrade on Monday afternoon by the European Broadcasting Union, the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest. The draw for the actual running order will take place on the 17th of March, during the annual Heads of Delegation meeting, in Belgrade.
On 22 May, the young Gozitan singer representing Malta will be competing directly with eighteen other Eurovision entries hailing from the following countries: Croatia, Denmark, Bulgaria, Portugal, Ukraine, Switzerland, FYR Macedonia, Iceland, Cyprus, Latvia, Belarus, Hungary, Albania, Sweden, Turkey, Lithuania, Georgia and Czech Republic.
On the first evening of the semi-finals the following countries will be represented: Montenegro, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Poland, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Estonia, the Netherlands, Romania, Moldova, San Marino, Slovenia, Norway, Belgium, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia.
Only viewers from the countries singing on each of the semi-final nights will be eligible to vote on the semi-final round. Ten songs from each semi-final will join last year's winner (Serbia) and the Eurovision Big Four (France, Germany, Spain, and UK) for the final on Saturday 24 May.
It was also determined by draw that Germany and Spain will be obliged to broadcast the first Semi-Final live and open voting for viewers in those countries for that night. France and the United Kingdom will be broadcasting the second Semi-Final, as well as take part in the voting. Host country Serbia will broadcast both Semi-Finals, and has been drawn to vote in the second Semi-Final.
The top nine songs determined televoting from each semi-final will qualify for the final, and a tenth will be determined by the back-up juries. Twenty-five songs will compete in the final.
