Morena has managed to grab the first prize at the Universong International Music Festival 2008 in the Canary Islands.

Morena participated with Tattoo written by Mark Amaira and Renato Briffa. They also co-wrote her Malta International TV Song Festival 2007 winning song Boghod mill-ghajn...boghod mill-qalb.

Morena also won the award for the best voice, while Tattoo also won the award as best original song.

Last December, she won also the Malta International TV Song Festival 2007 which automatically won her the right to represent Malta at the Universong International Music Festival 2008.

Meanwhile, Miriam Christine, a former participant in the Eurovision Song Contest, won the Malta Hit Song Contest held on ONE 1 TV on Sunday evening.

In May, Morena represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with 'Vodka' but failed to make it to the finals.
