The video shoot for Olivia Lewis’ song
Vertigo, which won the MaltaSong for Europe Festival earlier this month, is set to begin on Sunday. The exact location where
Vertigo will be shot has not yet been disclosed; however it will be the first music video to be filmed and edited high definition.
Vertigo was chosen as the winner out of five other songs, garnering a total of 30,977 votes. In turn, Olivia has been engaged in various activities in the recent weeks, including performing in
Spain where she interpreted
Vertigo in the Spanish national semi-finals. Commenting straight after the show, Olivia said "It was a heavenly experience. The stage and setup were magnificent and the crowd was so warm! Listening to the applause on stage reminded me of the crowd reaction in
Malta.”
Meanwhile, the team behind
Vertigo is working hard to finalize
Malta’s performance package for
Helsinki, where the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 will be held later during the year. ‘G Songs’, one of the largest production houses in
Sweden, suggested that ‘Vertigo’ needs 3 backing vocalists in order to recreate a solid and harmonious backing sound. These three backing vocalists will most likely be chosen by the Production House itself.
This leaves room for three more performers on stage, since regulations stipulate that each participant is allowed to have on stage a maximum of six performers. It has now been decided that these three remaining spots will by Olivia Lewis herself, accompanied by violinist Joseph Chetcuti and choreographer Jes.
The stage act is also to undergo improvement. It is expected that an official decision regarding the final setup of the Vertigo stage will be communicated shortly.
Meanwhile, the promotion of the song continues fervently.
Latvia, which hosted its national finals on the 19th February, showed a video of Olivia’s performance during Maltese finals. Seven times ESC Winner
Ireland will also be screening Olivia’s performance during their finals while she will also be performing in
Lithuania and
Ukraine. Olivia is currently in
Cyprus from to perform in their national finals.
