This year’s Malta Song for Europe will be held at the new conference centre in Ta' Qali, with singer J. Anvil and television host Stephanie Spiteri presenting both the semi-final and final rounds, to be held on the 1st and 3rd of February respectively.

The announcement came during a press conference on Wednesday, with the Malta Song Board revealing the songs' running order for the semi-finals round. The running order is as follows:

1. Kevin Borg - Whenever
2. AnnaBelle - Night-Wish
3. Tarcisio Barbara - Places to go
4. Claudia Faniello - L-Imhabba ghamja (Love is blind)
5. Rosman Pace - Rollercoaster ride
6. Julia Grima - Ice Queen
7. William Mangion - Forever mine
8. Olivia Lewis - Vertigo
9. Klinsmann Coleiro - She gives me wings
10. Julie Pomorsky - Look at me
11. Daniela Delicata - Little islands in your heart
12. Pamela - All about a life
13. SCAR - As long as you know
14. Isabelle Zammit - My love
15. Mauro Kitcher - Unite
16. Trilogy - Starlight

The lines for the televoting will remain open for half an hour for both the semi final and the final. Only one call can be made from each number.

The Malta Song Board also said that in a bid to ensure that the jury will not be influenced by the reactions of the audience to any song, it will watch the show in another room, on a television screen.

The televoting, as well as the jury votes, will function in the Eurovision Song Contest style, with awardable points ranging from one to eight, followed by ten and 12 points – the maximum amount of points a performer may obtain.

The opening and interval acts of the semi-final will be performed by the YADA dance company. Fabrizio Faniello will open the final and Ruslana will perform during the interval of the final.

Tickets will be available from Monday 15th January, through the Maltese Post Office, music shops and the Malta Culture Office.

With just three weeks to go for the Malta Song for Europe 2007, many are eagerly awaiting the Song for Europe final on the 3rd of February. Audio clips of this year’s 16 Malta Song for Europe songs are available on its MaltaMedia Online Network’s Eurovision website. The audio clips can be previewed here.
