According to the results of the finals of the Malta Song for Europe (MSFE) 2008 published on Monday evening, Morena’s Vodka was not the jury's number one choice. The results show that Vodka bagged opnly only 49 votes. The same amount of votes went to Claudia Faniello’s Caravaggio and Eleanor Cassar's Give me a chance.  The jury’s preference was Faniello’s Sunrise with an overwhelming 71 votes.

At the finals on Saturday, 80 per cent of the final result was via televoting with the remaining 20 per cent allocated to votes by an international panel of expert judges.

Claudia FanielloDespite the jury’s preference of Sunrise, composed by Ray Agius, a solid 16,979 votes from televoters secured Vodka’s winning place pushing Sunrise to the third place with just 4,518 televotes.  However, the public was not impartial to Faniello’s Caravaggio which managed to rise to second place after getting a handsome 12,714 votes from televoting.

On May 22nd, Morena will get her chance to fulfil the Maltese and Gozitan public’s trust and expectations as she competes with eighteen other contestants on the second night of semi-finals in Serbia. The running order for that evening will be drawn on the 17th March.

Only viewers from the countries singing on each of the semi-final nights will be eligible to vote on the semi-final round. Ten songs from each semi-final will join last year's winner (Serbia) and the Eurovision Big Four (France, Germany, Spain, and UK) for the final on Saturday 24 May.
