Maltese woman entrepreneur featured as a world role model

"Doing IT Around the World" has featured Maltese entrpreneur Angele Giuliano.

"Doing IT Around the World" profiles the lives and technology loves of 36 women across the globe, discovering what they do, how they contribute to our world and their shared passion for Innovation Technology.

The end results — the "Doing IT Around the World Album Series" and the "August 11 - A Day in the Life of... Diary" — tell amazing real life stories and delivers an educational tool for school children. By demonstrating the multiple career paths and geographic locations that women with technology skills can and do take up, it is also a motivational tool for women to help address the issue of retaining women in technology industries.

'It is an honour for me to be featured in such a prestigious project,' said Maltese Entrepreneur Angele Giuliano, on her being featured in the two international projects.

The projects entailed selected women in technology to be captured in their daily activities and profiled via photographic imagery and a diary of activity during the day, 11 August.

The event aims to present a rolling "day in the life of women in technology," by capturing and presenting role models and images from across the world as the day rolled around the world.
Ms Giuliano, is an entrepreneur involved in the field of IT, 'Being featured in such a project promotes the abilities of Maltese women as successful business women at a global level.'

'Such an achievement portrays the importance of female entrepreneurs in our economy. I'm just one of the many female entrepreneurs on our island that contribute significantly towards the Maltese economy growth,' continued Angele Giuliano

'The aim of the project is to find role models worldwide to promote girls and women taking up technology studies and careers in the IT field. This is very relevant for Malta knowing that ICT is becoming a major contributor to the island economy', declared Ms Giuliano.

Ms Giuliano, is also the President of the Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs (Malta) which serves as a networking facilitator for Maltese Businesswomen and promotes entrepreneurial skills (www.women.org.mt), and a board member of W.IN.NET.

W.IN.NET, is a European network that aims to create a network of local, regional and national Women Resource Centres in order to support them in promoting the role of women in local and regional development.

Ms Giuliano is the treasurer of ITF Global - Europe which has the task of setting up the European Centre for Women & Technology.
