Reach for the sky with PoezijaPlus

PoezijaPlus next event will be held on Monday, 27th August 2007 at 19:30CEST at Cafe Deux Baronnes in Valletta. The session is being organised in collaboration with the Malta Astronomical Society.

The event we will focus on the majestic sky above the grand harbour by means of poetry, anecdotes, educative information, music and the inevitable discussion.  PoezijaPlus will delve deep in the stories of mythology and their effect on today's society; attempts to answer the eternal question of whether we are the sole inhabitants of this vast cosmos, sift fiction from fact and invite the audience to peep at the moon and the grand Jupiter from its array of specialised telescopes which would be installed on the premises for this unique occasion.

Astronomical experts Edwin Camilleri, Tony Tanti and others will be amongst the speakers.

Works by Marlene Saliba, Oliver Friggieri, Maria Grazzia Grech, Charles Mifsud, Therese Pace, Annalise Falzon, Maria Grech Ganado, Simone Inguanez, Joe Friggieri, Immanuel Mifsud, Mary Meilak, Charles Colerio, , Dun Karm, Anton Buttigieg, Gorg Pisani, Patrick Sammut, and Mary Anne Zammit will be read in this tribute to the heavenly mysteries. 

Music composed by songwriters Vince Fabri, Walter Micallef, and Jazz Guitarists Mark Galea and Steve Delia will be played during the event.
