Hitting
campus between the 1st and 4th of April, the ‘Hurricane
Week’ that will be organised by the student organisation AEGEE-Valletta will include
numerous cultural, social and educational events. This is aimed at building a
democratic borderless Europe one of the
fundamental values of the international body, AEGEE-Europe.
AEGEE-Week
embodies a broad spectrum of opportunities where students are able to discover
themselves and the world around them.
Events will include a sports
tournament, a workshop to improve communications skills, a debate about the new
government’s educational policy, European Movie Night as well as a taste of
Maltese traditions and history through a guided tour in Mdina.
AEGEE-Valletta
is also expanding its reach to post secondary and English language schools by organising
a business breakfast on campus with the goal of initiating a network amongst
all. Most of the activities will be held on campus in the common room which
will be decorated as an emblem of unity with all the European flags and
information of each and every European country.
Amongst
this gale of events, AEGEE-Week also opens the doors to all students to learn
about the possibility to go abroad for a Summer University.
Summer Universities are fun events organised by students for other students
that last between one and two weeks. Around a hundred Summer Universities are
organised in several European cities.
Other
events are also organised abroad throughout the whole year, giving everyone a
remarkable opportunity to explore Europe
through different colours. Locally AEGEE
organises numerous events, such as the upcoming camping at the end of March and
the Summer University
which will bring over forty foreign students to Malta.
