Lyrical concert to feature Lydia Caruana

NnG Promotions will be presenting another concert featuring Lydia Caruana alongside Peter Berger and Jan Curco. For the concert, Mro Charles Olivieri-Munroe will be directing the National Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concert will take place on May 25, 2008 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.

Sicily tour to raise funds for St Patrick's School

The Salesians of Don Bosco are organising a three day tour to Sicily to raise funds for our boys at St. Patricks Salesians School in Sliema.

The tour is being held between July 4-6 and will include stops at Catania, Taormina, Siracusa, Noto and Palermo. Only a number of limited places is available.

Exhibition by Helga Portanier at Fine Arts museum

Helga Portanier’s second series of paintings will be exhibited at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta between the 10th May and the 9th June.

Entitled Mikrokosmos, the works, whose media are tempera, ink and watercolour on paper, draw on textural inspiration from natural elements that surround us: bark, shells, fossils, shrubs. The artist’s eye is deeply observant of the particular cultural qualities that surround her.

Young Artists' paintings exhibited at UHM

A little more than a year after his first solo art exhibition, Joseph Cilia is once again taking the initiative of presenting some of his works to the general public, with the difference that now he is being joined by long-time friend Ilona Attard.

Cilia and Attard share their artistic talent with the rest of the world, which, although particular pleasing to them, is the result of much painstaking work and sacrifice.

80,000 visit Gozo during Gozo1234 activities

Gozo Channel ferries carried almost 80,000 passengers and 20,000 vehicles in the five days between Wednesday April 30 and Sunday May according to a government statement.

These figures reveal an increase in both passenger and vehicle traffic related with the Gozo 1234 activity, when compared to the figures registered last year between 16th and 20th May in connection with Lejlet Lapsi – Notte Gozitana.
