Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana seems to have allured many to cross over to Gozo as the number of vehicles that boarded the ferry from Cirkewwa stood at 3,064 with 12,147 passengers between Friday and noon on Saturday. On an average weekend, between 1,500 and 1,800 vehicles usually cross over to the sister island.

The entertaining weekend unfolding in Victoria and the Citadel started on Friday. Six stages were set up in Sabina Square , Independence Square, St George’s Square , St Augustine Square, St Francis Square and Republic Street crossroads, offering the general public a wide variety of cultural activities, including different musical genres for the enjoyment of audiences of all ages.

Sunday’s programme includes a plant and flower market at Castle Hill between 0900 CET and 1300 CET, an annual spring fair at the Ninu Cremona Lyceum in Victoria from 0900 CET to 1600 CET and a parade of flag-wavers, trumpeters and drummers by the Italian sbandieratori from the Citta’ di Sermoneta’ in the main streets between 1000 CET and 1200 CET.

Other activities include a kwaranturi Pontifical Mass and procession will be held from 1730 CET onwards and a Mattia Preti's exhibition at the Banca Giuratale will be open from 0900 CET and 1800 CET.

A performance staged by students at Sir A.Mercieca School entitled Disney Magic with highlights from The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas and Tarzan will take place between 1700 CET and 1830 CET.
