Next Sunday 20th May 2007 is a special day for all basketball followers and non as a whole day will be dedicated for a fund raising activity in aid of Jackie Chircop. Jackie Chircop is an18 year old daughter of former basketball player and Coach Derek Chircop. Last December her life was nearly snapped by a virus. In view of Derek’s association with basketball, an organizing committee was set up. The members are Ottavio Terribile, Robert Camilleri, Peter Farrugia and Colin Schembri with the collaboration of Ivan Riolo, Sandro Farrugia and the Malta Basketball Association.   The main scope of the committee was the organization of a fund raising activity spread on a whole day. This will be done next Sunday 20th May and will involve all sectors from the local basketball scene. The below is the programme of the activity:

10.00 am : Exhibition game: Under 13 Boys

11.00 am : Exhibition game: Under 13 Girls

13.45 pm : Exhibition game: Women: Peugeot League Selection vs 2003 Gold Medal Winners Team.

15.00 pm : Exhibition game: Veterans: For this game a lot of veterans confirmed their presence for this game. Amongst the participants attendees will see great past players like John Tabone, Val Drury, Joe Galea, Lorry Agius. Ivan Riolo, Richard Schembri, Alex Farrugia and Paul Sultana.

16.15 pm : Exhibition game: All star selection from Men Division 1 and 2. Top local players confirmed their attendance for this game. Players like Michael Naudi, Omar Said, Adison Bonnici. Alan Borg, Joshua Aquilina. Silvio Cassar, Peter Shoults, Adrian Baldacchino will all be present for this match.

Entrance fee will be LM1. The entrance ticket may be a winner in a raffle which will be done during the event. On behalf of the organizing committee I would like to thank all the people who will be joining us on Sunday 20th May 2007 from 10.00 am onwards.
