Rabat Depiro H.C. vs Young Stars H.C. FT 2-5; (HT 1-1)
Umpires: David Agius & Reno Cremona

From the word go Young Stars went immediately on the attack and by the 7th Azzopardi un Rabat’s goal had to effect a double save first on a reverse hit by Joseph Dalli and from the rebound  on David Evans push shot.  However he could do nothing to stop Evans from opening the score a minute later.

On the 18th Young Stars young goalkeeper Brandon Sant saved well off efforts by Jason Vella and Josef Antonelli.  On the 19th a flick by Charlot Antonelli hit the post with Sant beaten. On the 20th Rabat won a short corner from which they equalized through a typical Shawn Falzon stinger.

In the 2nd half Young Stars came out more determined and by the 41st they went ahead through a slap shot by Chris Bonello after some excellent work by Nick Agius Darmanin.

On the 52nd it was again Bonello who managed to squeeze the ball under the diving Azzopardi to make the score 3 -1.  Five minutes later Young Stars made it 4 -1 when Chris Attard beat Azzopardi from the top of the D ,and on the 67th they added another goal, from the penalty spot, which was stylishly converted  by Charlie Micallef.

Just before the final whistle Shawn Falzon made it 5 – 2.

This was the 2nd match in a row that newly crowned champions  Rabat conceded five goals.

Qormi H.C. vs Sliema Hotsticks 7-0 (HT3-0)
Umpires:  Edward Hughes & Sander Cassar

This was a one way affair as the final score indicates, suffice to say that the Qormi Goalkeeper Ramon Chircop did not touch the ball once during the first half and was only troubled towards the end of the game.

With all this superiority however it took Qormi 17 mins to open the score.  From a quickly taken free hit in midfield the ball was played to Philip Magri who immediately passed the ball to Keith Calleja, and with a neat reverse hit beat Luke Mallia all ends up.

It took Qormi  another 10 mins to double the score. A well executed Short Corner set piece ended with Steve Tanti hitting the ball in.  Just before the half time whistle John Williams made it 3 – 0 when he managed to get a touch to a through ball by Jonathan Aquilina deviating it past the onrushing Mallia.

In the second half Qormi kept on the pressure and from yet another short corner it was Owen Piscopo who scored from close range.  On the 50th Steve Tanti picked the ball in his own half , sprinted down the middle unhindered ,  and on entering the D ,  passed to the unmarked Rudolph Camilleri who had no problem in making it 5 – 0.  On the 60th a move by Tanti, Borg and Camilleri was concluded by Gareth Dimech to score the best goal of the bunch.   A last second goal by Rudolph Camilleri made the end result read 7 – 0.
