Cycling: Three in a row for Dimech

James Dimech has impressively won his category in the 2008 Malta National Road Cycling Mass Start Championship organized by the Malta Cycling Federation, for the third consecutive year.

As in the two previous years, James Dimech who is a member of the Mosta AF Sign Studio Cycling Club, and who races in the Under 15 category, obtained maximum points for the season winning the National Championship races at Pinellu, San Martin and Zurrieq besides Club races organized by the Mosta AF Sign Studio Cycling Club and the Melita Cycling Club along the Zebbug By-Pass and the St Pauls Bay By-Pass respectively.

James Dimech is coached by Joe Muscat (Youth Coach Mosta AF Sign Studio Cycling Club) who has a wealth of experience in this field and who has assisted James in confirming his complete dominance in his category helping him to make maximum use of his vast road cycling experience through his extensive cycle training program.

This past season has seen him riding stronger and more confidently than ever continuing to prove his potential to advance in this sport.

James Dimech shall soon be leaving Malta to participate for the second time in the International Cycling Youth Tour of Kerry, Ireland and is hoping to improve on his performance last year in which he placed 20th out of 64 participants.

James Dimech is a member of the GO Youth Athlete Scheme of the MOC Centre of Excellence and benefits from support and assistance to take part in competitions and /or training camps abroad and a number of other benefits. This scheme is sponsored by GO as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility policy.
