The Marsa Squash Section beats the visiting Polish team in the second fixture which produced some interesting and entertaining matches.

Several of the matches 'went the distance' with the winner decided in the 5th & final set.

Phillip Bugeja, one of Malta's finest players, produced a brilliant performance against the visiting Polish team's number one Tomasz Abramowski and showed that he still has the 'touch and control' to compete with the best. Bugeja won a close-fought match in front of a good crowd 3-0.

Malta's youngest talent Colette Sultana fought extremely well against Marek Kurylowicz before losing 3-2 in a 60 minute match, a fantastic performance for a 12 year old athlete.

The final result was a hard-fought 9-6 for the Marsa Squash Section Team.

Saturday sees the final stage of the Polish visit with the International Friendship Squash Tournament being held at the Marsa Club.

The tournament modus sees the players in the first and second round coming against competitors that they did not play against on Tuesday and Wednesday. This gives all players the opportunity to test their skills once again against international competition. The third round however could see some repeat matches, with players being given a second chance to beat their previous opponents.

All guests are welcome to attend on Saturday from 11.30 and watch what should prove to be extremely interesting matches.

The final on Saturday is scheduled for 18.00
