Microsoft brings latest technologies for web developers

Malta based software and web developers had the opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge with the latest Microsoft technologies. Microsoft Malta hosted the annual event themed ‘DevDays’ to cultivate shared learning throughout the developer community.

The keynote speaker was Tomislav Bronzin, Microsoft Regional Director and Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, INETA Europe Vice President.  He gave an overview about the hottest Visual Studio .NET 2008 topics, including: Silverlight, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Workflow (WF), LINQ, Ajax, and Visual Studio .NET Architect Tools.

Karl Davies Barrett, DPE Lead for Microsoft Malta & Cyprus, said: “Microsoft DevDays is one of the largest developer conferences in Europe, attracting thousands of developers each year.  In Malta, this annual event provided software developers new insights for developing secure, reliable and scalable Web-based applications using the Microsoft .NET platform.”

Many locally based web developers, who attended the Dev Days seminar were amazed to discover some of the hottest Microsoft technologies. One of the delegates,  Ian Sant, Software Engineer at 2X Software, commented that Microsoft Malta organised a very good event and it was of great interest to software developers. He said "It was very interesting to learn about the new features of Visual Studio 2008 and the product demos highlighted the ease of development when using Silverlight."
