As from September, Ryanair will start operating a new route between Malta and Bremen, Germany, the airline announced in a statement on Thursday.

ryanair On Wednesday, the Government issued another call for proposals from low-cost carriers to operate new and under-served routes to Malta, opening up the possibility for low-cost airlines to operate to Malta from the Germany city as well from Bari in Italy, any airport in Spain, Portugal and Scandinavia.

According to The Times of Malta , Ryanair's Sales Manager for Southern Europe, Bridget Dowling, said the Malta-Bremen route will operate three times weekly as from the 25th September.

At present Ryanair serves the routes of Dublin, Ireland, Luton in London, the United Kingdom and Pisa, in Italy.

Ms Dowling told the Times of Malta that Ryanair has already seen great success on the three existing Ryanair routes from Malta, adding that the airline is confident that this new route to Bremen will be equally successful. "This will mean more inbound passengers to Malta as well as a greater choice and even more low fares for Maltese consumers who want to escape from Air Malta's high fares," she continued.

To mark this new route, Ryanair is offering flights from just one euro cent, excluding taxes, on all Maltese routes.
