Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Mifsud has resigned after taking up the post less than a year ago on the 1st September 2006.

Less than a month after Mr Mifsud  became CEO, the MTA board had tendered its resignation after divulging of confidential information to the press. Mr Mifsud had remained in his post after the board's resignation. He had taken strong exception to the leakages.

The Minister for Tourism and Culture Francis Zammit Dimech accepted his resignation with immediate effect and instructed the Authority to immediately start the process to identify a suitable person to occupy the now vacant post.
