Ryanair is expected to start operating a new route to and from Valencia in Spain as from the 30th October. A three times weekly flight will be scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, leaving Valencia at 1230CET and reaching Gudja at 1500CET.

Presently, Ryanair already operates flights to and from Luton, London in the United Kingdom, Dublin in Ireland and Pisa in Italy.  Additionally, it will start operating another flight to and from the Spainish city of Girona, along with flights to Bremen in Germany and Nykoping, Stockholm in Sweden in the coming weeks.

Speaking of the new scheduled route, Minister for Tourism and Culture Dr Francis Zammit Dimech pointed out that Ryanair will bring around 160,000 passengers to Malta in one year through its seven routes.

While noting that 2007 has so far recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals in six years, Dr Zammit Dimech said that the introduction of low cost airlines was important to these positive results, along with the improvements to Malta’s promotion and product, the organization of high quality cultural activities as well as continuous improvement to the infrastructure.
