Air Malta official carrier for CEPIC 2008 Congress

Air Malta has been appointed as the official carrier of CEPIC - the Coordination of European Picture Agencies Press Stock Heritage. CEPIC will be holding its 14th Annual Congress, here in Malta between the 6th and the 10th of June. More than 1,000 delegates are expected to travel on Air Malta services to and from Malta in order to attend for the CEPIC 2008 Congress.
The CEPIC Congress is a forum and market place for the worldwide image industry which takes place every year in a different European city. This congress is one of the largest global events for the visual industry.
Several activities and workshops will be carried out during this congress. The delegates, which hail from more than sixty countries across Europe, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Americas will also have an opportunity to explore and discover the Maltese Islands. Air Malta’s accessibility from all major European airports has facilitated travel to CEPIC delegates, as such the airline always promotes its specialized Conferences and Incentives propositions as one of its unique marketing initiatives.
CEPIC is a non-profit making European Economic Interest Group representing press and picture agencies, stock photo libraries, major new agencies, art galleries and museums. CEPIC is registered in Paris and its offices are based in Berlin. Its main aim is the harmonization of current European laws, in various fields including royalties, copyrights, new technologies, studies of coherent and compatible means to enable the largest cultural exchange through image. Most of the world’s published images are networked by CEPIC members.
CEPIC’s Committee vice-president Jean Desaunois said “Malta’s accession to the European Union was the main reason behind the decision to organize the congress here. I am also impressed by the professional logistical arrangements and provisions for Conferences and Incentives that your country has to offer,” he added.
Mr Noel Gravino, Section Head Conferences & Incentives Travel of Air Malta thanked the CEPIC Committee for choosing Malta for their annual congress. “We welcome all CEPIC delegates on our services to and from Malta and we wish them a fruitful meeting event,” he added.
