Air Malta is closely monitoring the situation following the announcement of a possible strike action and related disruptions which are currently being threatened at London’s Gatwick and Stansted airports, on the 25th and 29th August and at Manchester airport on the 27th August and 1st September.

The current dispute at Swissport, the airline’s ground handlers at these airports, may also be extended to other UK airdromes.

Air Malta is in close contact with Swissport and is being updated constantly on the evolving matter. Whereas some affected airlines have chosen to cancel flights, Air Malta intends to provide minimum disruptions to its customers and currently plans to operate these flights to the respective airports on these dates. The airline however is also making contingency arrangements to re-route the Gatwick and Stansted flights to Luton airport and the Manchester flight to Liverpool airport should the need arise.

A formal announcement on any changes to the schedule and routes of the affected flights will be communicated in the coming days.

All flights will operate as per normal schedule and to the original airport if strike action is withdrawn.
