As soon as the school children arrived at the Malta International Airport they were greeted by Captain KozMo, the cheery ‘Martian’ mascot of Air Malta ’s Young Aviator Club who presented to them some Air Malta giveaways and escorted them to the check-in counters. The highlight of the event was a one hour over flight on Sicily . The aircraft ascended to an altitude of just 10,000 feet and so all students had the opportunity to see Mount Etna and the Maltese Islands like never before.

The educational activity was thoroughly enjoyed by the children and their teachers. When the Head of School, Mrs. Debono, was asked about the activities, she commented, “Flying with the children was a wonderful experience. It was fantastic to see the pupils go through the whole process of checking-in, passing through the security system, boarding the bus and on the plane, and for once the school motto was suitably changed from ‘Together We Grow’ to ‘Together We Fly’.

Captain KozMo is looking forward to meet more school children on similar educational visits. Children between 4 and 12 years of age, who have flown at least once with Air Malta , are eligible to join the Young Aviator Club. The relevant application form can be collected in-flight, from Air Malta Sales Offices or downloaded from www.airmalta.com.
