Trackless train service inaugurated

A new service for trackless trains was inaugurated on Friday evening by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi at the Roman Villa in Rabat.
The service will operate within the Rabat, Mdina and Mtarfa zone and is being provided by Melita Trains, a private company.
It will primarily be marketed as a tourist attraction for sightseeing.
The trackless train consists of an electric vehicle which will pull a number of other wagons.
