Friars of the Dominican Order sing hymns during the opening of the traditional Last Supper Table of the Apostles at St Dominic's Oratory in Valletta. The tradition of preparing these elaborate stylised tables during Easter Week is widespread throughout the Maltese Islands. The 'table' is prepared for thirteen (Christ and the twelve apostles) and is laid on with fresh loaves, wine-jars and pastries, with detailed patterns on plates made with coloured rice.
