APAP VICTOR
(09.07.1913 - 26.08.2001)

Victor Apap was born in Valletta and received his education at St. Mary School, proceeding to the Lyceum.

Apap started his career in theatre in 1934 as part of the theatre company Gioventu Cattolica. He was also very active as an actor in several radio plays.

In 1931, Victor was one of the founding members of the Malta Catholic Action, in which he remained an active member until his death.

Victor Apap was elected as member of the Ghaqda Kittieba tal-Malti. He produced several literary masterpieces including Ulied ta' l-Azzar (1960), Dar il-Hena (1972), F'Bieb il-Hajja (1975), L-Irgiel Taghha (1976), Misrah Qawsalla (1983) and Triq Fawwara 22 (1984)


CASSAR JOSEPH (GUZE)
(22.01.1918 - 27.11.2001)

Guze Cassar

Guze Cassar was born in Qrendi, son of Jospeh and Giovanna nee Magri. He studied at the Seminary in Gozo, the Lyceum and the University of Malta, subsequently becoming a lawyer in 1943.

He started his political career in 1945 after having been elected on the First District in the ranks of the Labour Party. In 1948 he became Minister for Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. He was subsequently re-elected in 1950 and 1951 for the Malta Workers Party, being appointed Minister for Justice in a coalition Government led by Prime Minister Gorg Borg Olivier. He subsequently rejoined the Malta Labour Party and was elected in every election between 1971 and 1987. He held various cabinet positions throughout the period. He retired from politics in 1992.

Guze Cassar was instrumental in the drafting of the Republic Constitution of 1974. From 1997 onwards he often held the post of Acting President.

He devoted much of his spare time to the Lourdes Band Club in Qrendi and served as its President for a long period of time.

MICALLEF DOREEN
(31.05.1949 - 01.12.2001)

Doreen Micallef was born in Floriana, daughter of Gerald and Giorgina nee Borg. She studied art and literature at Diploma level.

In the 60s, Doreen was one of the leaders of the Moviment Qawmien Letterarju. Her first literary works were in the field of poetry. She was also fond of drama and was awarded the Golden Star in Broadcasting in 1969, 1970 and 1973 as best writer. In 1972 she published six plays in a book called Wicc imb'wicc u drammi ohra. Her poetic works have been collected in the books Fit-Triq ta' l-Empire (1975), De Profundis (1979) and Kyrie (1980).

Lina Galea Cumbo
GALEA CUMBO LINA
(14.04.1927 - 09.11.2001)

Lina Galea Cumbo is one of the better-known faces in Maltese teleserials working both as an actress and make-up artist.

Throughout her career, she also took part in several television films and serials, and recently played a part in TVM`s Villa Sunset.

Though in recent years an illness stopped her from doing make-up, Ms Galea Cumbo was still active in the television scene.

She recently took part in Super 1`s Qeghdin Sew and in Net TV`s Angli.
When not on stage, Lina was often seen putting her make-up skills to good use, and was often engaged by several drama and film companies.
