The latest edition of the bi-lingual travel magazine In the World, allocated a ten-page full colour spread to the Maltese Islands in an article entitled ‘I Cavalieri di Malta’ (the Knights of Malta). The feature chronicled the history of the archipelago dating back from the establishment of the Romans, up until Malta’s European Union accession. The piece, which focused on the cultural and archaeological heritage left by the Knights of the Order of St John of Jerusalem, was accompanied by stunning photos capturing typical landscapes and artefacts of the Islands.
The December 2004 edition of the Italian navigation magazine, Nautica chronicled the Rolex Middle Sea Race, which was held earlier this year in Malta, in a six-page article. The article is peppered with photos of majestic yachts sailing across the local crystalline waters, with the Maltese landscape as a colourful backdrop.
The journalists who wrote these articles, visited the Maltese islands on press trips which were hosted by the Malta Tourism Authority in collaboration with Air Malta.
