Gift of Life, a pro-life group in Malta, has launched an online petition calling for the inclusion of the right to life from conception into the Constitution of Malta.

The petition also calls for a two thirds majority in parliament, should teh givernment decide to legalize abortion. Presently abortion laws may come into force with a single seat majority.

The group intends to present the total number of signatories to parliament when it reconvenes after the summer break.

One need not be a Maltese resident to sign the petition as long as he or she holds a Maltese identity card or passport number. Those interested may sign the Gift of Life petition here.
