Windows Vista at reduced price for students

Maltese students will be able to benefit from a new software offer launched by Microsoft and the Ministry for Industry, Investment and Information Technology on Tuesday.

In a news conference at Tereża Nuzzo School in Marsa, Minister Austin Gatt announced that his Ministry and Microsoft are offering Microsoft software at a reduced price. This is the third deal of its kind that Malta has struck with Microsoft. The offer includes Windows Vista Upgrade and Office 2007 Professional and will be available in Malta early next year at the price of Lm46, Lm 300 less than the original price.

The offer is only applicable for students and teachers who bought or intend to buy the second discounted software package which was issued in 2005 and included Office 2003. This package is available at the price of Lm 13.99c at all Maltapost branches.

Registrations for the third package will be open until Friday 15th December 2006 from all Microsoft branches. Applicants must provide proof of being a student and present this license of the 2003 Office package. A Lm 10 deposit will be required to secure a registration. Persons who bought the second discounted package in 2005 will receive an application to register for the Microsoft Vista offer. The application is to be filled in a presented at Maltapost.
