50 illegal immigrants brought ashore

In the early hours of Saturday morning at around 0130 CET, 50 illegal immigrants were brought onto shore at Xatt it-Tiben by an AFM patrol boat.

The AFM were alerted as to the sighting of a rubber dinghy that had illegal immigrants on board by an Italian fishing boat.

The immigrants were taken to the Police General Headquarters for questioning.

Further police investigations are underway.
