The Institute of Pastoral Formation is organising a public conference on the much-debated Dan Brown The Da Vinci Code book and film. The conference, which will take the format of a ‘round table’, will be held on Saturday 27th May at 1900 CET at the Hotel Phoenicia in Floriana.

Speakers for the event are Sr Marie Sciculuna (RSCJ) who will focus on Mary Magdalene and Professor Anthony J.Frendo whose argument includes a discussion on the word Shekinah, which indicates the presence of God among his people. On the other hand, Dr George G.Buttigieg, will speak about the weak reasoning behind religion, history and art aspects mentioned in The Da Vinci Code.

Meanwhile, the Curia said that information on the manual it will be publishing will be given during a press conference on Wednesday 24th May at the Curia in Floriana at 1030 CET which will be presided by Fr Fabio Attard.

The manual deals with a number of questions that are put forth in Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code. Besides the manual, the Institute of Pastoral Formation, is preparing an informative insert on the book which will be distributed to families in the next issue of Flimkien.
