Officials from the Armed Forces of Malta were required to help 22 illegal immigrants who were seen adrift in a boat approximately 25 nautical miles outside of Maltese shores.

The boat was seen by fishermen who were in the area at around 1030 CET.

We are awaiting further details about the state of the illegal immigrants; however, it seems that medical assistance will be required.

This is the second boat of immigrants to reach Malta in the past few days.
