Third arson attack in one day

Following the two arson attacks that occurred in Zebbug early on Monday morning, the Police were informed at around 11:00CET that another vehicle was on fire in Triq l-Industrija in Kirkop.

The other two arson attacks occurred at around 01:20CET one in Triq il-Kbira and one in Triq Mamo in Zebbug.

In the two incidents that occurred in the early hours of Monday, preliminary investigations revealed that a motorcycle, two cars and a residence door were on fire. The Civil Protection Department was alerted who controlled the situation immediately. The motorcycle and one of the cars were completely destroyed. Meanwhile, at about the same time, the Police were informed that another car was on fire in Triq Mamo also in Zebbug. The Police extinguished this fire themselves. No one was injured in these incidents.

In the third arson attack this time in Kirkop, the Police preliminary investigations revealed that a vehicle, a Jaguar was on fire. The fire was extinguished by persons residing in the street. The vehicle was damaged but no one was injured in this incident.

Duty Magistrate Dr J. Cassar was informed of all the cases and several experts were appointed to assist in the inquiry. Police are investigating.
