Police seized a large quantity ecstasy on Monday morning. The find, reported as the largest ecstasy discovery in Malta, was seized at the Customs office. A 45-year-old Englishman who resides in Malta along with an 18-year-old Maltese youth have been detained in relation to the case.

The find was made by the Police along with Customs’ Enforcement Section following intensive investigations. The Police had been keeping the Port area under surveillance for a number of days. The pills were found hidden in an undisclosed number of packets.

Duty Magistrate Silvio Meli was informed of the case an appointed various experts to assist him in a inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
