Just days after reopening, Hastings Garden in Valletta was heavily vandalized during the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

Obscenities in bright red spray were scrawled across some of the walls and a monument, while a number of uplighters were smashed. Some of the garden's paving and a number of benches weren't spared from the red spray either.
Hastings Garden was reopened on Friday 7th July, after months of refurbishment works which cost up to Lm350,000.
A number of workers were called to the scene to see to the damages the garden suffered in the vandalism attack.
The Ministry for Resources and Infrastructure, as well as the Sectional Committee of the Nationalist Party condemned the vandalism.
