Five persons injured after karrozzin overturns

Five persons were injured in Floriana on Monday afternoon after a typical Maltese carriage overturned. A family of four holidaying in Malta and the carriage driver all sustained some injuries in the incident which took place at around 1630CEST.

The horse-driven carriage, also known as a karrozzin overturned when the horse, pulling the carriage down St Anne's Street, became increasingly agitated. As the carriage overturned, a number of people were injured.

The five persons were rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital by ambulance to receive treatment for their injuries.

Police from the Valletta district are investigating the case.
