The Malta Planning and Environment Authority (MEPA) called on the Police to investigate allegations of illegal waste dumping at sea by construction group Polidano.

Although the company has permits to dump waste in landfills among other sites, it has recently been at the centre of controversy for alleged illegal waste dumping at sea without a permit.

In a statement MEPA also said that the filling of landfills with Polidano Group’s building waste is tied to a financial guarantee as a means with which to observe regulations imposed on the group.
