The owner of the Madonna statue which reportedly wept tears of blood on two separate occasions in January and April 2006, has experienced ‘visions’ from the Madonna, Maltarightnow reported.

Angelik Caruana’s ‘visions’ were revealed in a statement he wrote and which were read out during an MIR prayer meeting in Marsa last Monday by his wife, Catherine. In the statement, Angelik said that his first ‘vision’ occurred on April 21 and were followed by others.

The visions took place in the public in three churches during the MIR prayer meetings organised by Fr Hayden Williams, as well as in a sacristy, Maltarightnow reported.

According to Angelik Caruana’s statement, the Madonna is referring to herself as the Immaculate Conception and the Queen of Peace and the Family. She asks for the urgent conversion of Maltese families and for a lot of prayer for the conversion of five countries in particular; Iran, Russia, America, China and Australia.

Other messages that Caruana says he is receiving from the Madonna are for prayer, fasting and penance in the world as well as the prayer of the Rosary especially in the family so as to stop and avoid wars on an international level and national disasters also on a local level.

During the ‘visions’, Caruana was also reportedly attacked by the devil who tried to frighten and discourage him.

Maltarightnow said that following Catherine Caruana’s reading of her husband’s statement, Fr Williams said that if these incidents were genuine, Angelik is only an instrument for the Madonna to pass on her messages.

Fr Williams also expressed his wish for MIR meetings not to be sensational in nature especially in regard to these incidents. He reminded the 500-strong crowd that the Church, through the Archbishop, has to verify whether the Holy Spirit is present in these events.

As yet, the Maltese Church is investigating a statue of Holy Mary of the Immaculate Conception that wept blood in Caruana’s house in Birżebbuġa. The Curia is yet to contact the Vatican about the statue.
