Two men lost their lives between Tuesday and Wednesday in two separate accidents.
The most recent case concerns a 21-year-old man who lost his life after being involved in a serious traffic accident in the Coast Road, Baħar iċ-Cagħaq. The accident took place at around 0830CEST on Wednesday when the man lost control of his car and crashed head on into a truck carrying boulders. The truck was driven by a 61-year-old man.
Members from the Civil Protection Department (CPD) were called on location to extract the young man from the car. The CPD members had to cut away at the car’s roof to help they man get out of the crashed car. A team of paramedics assisted the operation.
Earlier during the day, Police urged drivers to make use of alternative roads as to avoid traffic jams.
The man was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was certified to be in danger of losing his life. He died shortly afterwards.
Duty Magistrate Antonio Mizzi appointed various experts to assist in an inquiry.
Police are investigating the case.
In turn, a 58-year-old man from Sannat, Gozo was killed after being attacked by a bull on Tuesday afternoon. The man died on location.
The man's brother was present in the field when the incident took place was not injured.

An autopsy is expected to be carried out on the man's body on Wednesday.
