Hold-up in Paceville, thieves arrested in Birkirkara

On Sunday morning an employee was held up in front of Burger King in Paceville. One News reported that the man had just left another establishment in the area when two robbers pounced on him in front of the fast-food outlet and made away with some money he was carrying.

Police are investigating the case.

Searches for a vehicle used in the hold-up are currently being carried out in Wied il-Għajn.

In turn, in a separate case, Police arrested two men in Birkirkara on Sunday morning in relation to a theft from a van in Gżira. The men, one aged 36 from Birkirkara and one aged 38 from Msida allegedly stole two car stereos and some tools from the van parked in Gżira Street.

Police were alerted of the men’s suspicious movements at around 0100CEST, however when they arrived at the scene there was no sign of the alleged robbers. The men were tracked down when Police located their car parked in a lane in Birkirkara.

The alleged robbers were arrested in a residence in the same lane, where a number of objects stolen from the van in Gżira were retrieved.

The men are assisting Police in further investigations.

Police investigations continue.
