More illegal immigrants enter Malta

Another group of twenty-nine illegal immigrants reached Maltese shores early on Sunday morning at around 02:30CEST. The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) assisted the boat carrying a number of illegal immigrants to reach the shore at Wied Buni limits of Bizebbuga.

The group consisted of twenty males, five females and four children.

The illegal immigrants were handed over to the immigration police for further investigations.

This was the third boat to enter Malta in the past week. In fact, twenty-three illegal immigrants landed in Wied iz-Zurrieq on Friday morning. The group, made up of 21 men and two women, reached the shore at around 1040CEST.

Earlier this week two illegal immigrants died after the boat they were travelling on with another 21 illegal immigrants capsized 8 nautical miles East of Delimara. Another 17 of the illegal immigrants were rescued. The group was originally made up of 23 illegal immigrants.
