UPDATED 18:59
Once again the recovery of a box from the seabed off Delimara thought to contain the human remains of missing Brian Rosso was postponed and is expected to be carried out on Monday. The Civil Protection Department divers had been expected to recover the box on Sunday morning.
A Maltese and a Sicilian man had admitted to killing the 48-year-old Marsascala businessman in October last year. The box tied up with barbed wire, was found earlier this week by a diver at a depth of around 25 meters and approximately 100 meters off the coast.
According to The Sunday Times rough sea on Saturday prevented divers from searching the seabed for the second day in succession. Weather permitting; the operation will be carried out this morning. If recovered, the remains will be handed over to the police for investigation.
The two men charged with Brian Rosso's murder, 37-year-old Maltese Anthony Bugeja, 37, and 31-year-old Sicilian Piero Di Bartolo, had told the police they were involved in wrapping the victim's body in a sack and dumping it in the sea.
Searches for the body had been carried out in the past, however, they reaped no results. At one point, 28 divers and a robotic camera were involved in the search for Brian Rosso's body.
