An 63-year-old Italian man lost his life in a tragic accident which occurred on Saturday evening in Laboratory Wharf, Kordin.
Police preliminary investigations revealed that the man was caught under the rear wheel of a trailer driven by a 37-year-old man from Zebbug. The trailer was on board a ship.
The man was certified dead on site.
Magistrate Giovanni Grixti was informed of the case and he appointed several experts to assist him in the inquiry.
The police are still investigating.
The Malta Maritime Authority has also opened an inquiry.
