Paul Hili has been sentenced to 15 years in jail after being found guilty, with eight votes against one, of the attempted murder of 24-year-old Victor Testa from Sliema.

The 56-year-old from St. Julian’s stood a trial by jury after Victor Testa received numerous blows of a wooden plank to the head in St. Francis Street, Sliema, on the 27th February 2003. The youth required 17 stitches to his head and underwent surgery to repair the damage he suffered to his skull.

Paul Hili was also found unanimously guilty of breaking traffic regulations and breaching public peace and order.

The prosecution was led by Assistant Attorney General Mark Said. Lawyer John Attard Montalto appeared for Paul Hili.
Justice Joe Galea Debono presided over the court.
