Mons. Paul Cremona, who was announced as the new Archbishop of Malta on Saturday, will undergo Episcopal ordination on Friday, 26th January 2007 at the St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta. Current Archbishop Mons. Jospeh Mercieca will act as the main consecrator. The ceremony will commence at at 1830CET.
In turn, on Friday 19th January, a thanksgiving mass will be held at the same Cathedral to mark the end of Archbishop Mons. Joseph Mercieca’s services as leader of the Catholic Church in Malta.
Mons. Paul Cremona’s has been busy in the recent days following the announcement of his appointment as the New Archbishop of Malta. On Monday he met Archbishop Mons. Joseph Mercieca and Curia Officials. The subsequent day Mons Cremona met other members of staff at the Curia. In turn on Wednesday he was engaged in a meeting with Maltese Parish Priests.
In the upcoming days, he will also be heading to Italy for a private visit in Rome.
