The police were informed early on Friday morning that a vehicle parked in Bella Vista Street in San Ġwann was on fire. No one was injured in this incident.
Preliminary investigations on site revealed that a Mercedes Benz for unknown reasons caught fire. The vehicle’s rear part was damaged.
The members from the Civil Protection Department controlled the fire. Duty Magistrate Dr Vella was informed of the case and several experts were appointed to assist in the inquiry.
Further police investigations are under way.
This was the second arson case that was reported to the police in the past two days. On Thursday a vehicle was on fire in Carmelo Schembri Street, Mosta.
