The Gozo Channel transport service seems to be back to normal after it was suspended for some time on Tuesday. The suspension was ordered at around 1430 CET after the harbour security office was informed that the police received a bomb threat phone call from an anonymous person.

Members from the Bomb Disposal Unit within the Armed Forces of Malta were immediately ordered to carry out a search operation on board the sea vessels MV Ta’ Pinu and MV Melita.

Currently, a search operation is being carried out on MV Ta’ Pinu, while the MV Melita was released and recommenced to load passengers on board at around 1730 CET in Ċirkewwa.
