Car chase lands two girls in hospital

A car chase between a van and the Police resulted in two girls being injured after the van crashed into their Fiat Punto in Triq Għajn Dwieli in Raħal Ġdid on Tuesday night.

In Santa Venera, the police noticed a suspicious van which fled the scene as soon as they realised that police were present. A car chase ensued with the police firing warning shots. The car chase ended in Rahal Gdid when the van collided with the girls’ car, however the men who were inside the van continued their escape on foot. The men reiterated the shots during the chase. Police followed and eventually caught one of the men.

The girls were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital were they were found to be suffering from light injuries.

Duty Magistrate Dr. Antonio Vella was informed about the case and appointed various experts to help in the inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
