Bus strike called off

The Public Transport Association (ATP) decided to suspend the bus strike that started on Tuesday. A spokesman from the Roads and Urban Development Ministry confirmed to MaltaMedia News that an agreement has been reached between the government and the ATP, and that the latter accepted the government’s proposals.
Moreover, the Ministry spokesman said that the ATP also accepted the government’s proposal regarding the introduction of route groups for the bus service. He explained that the government will now work on the drafting of the proposal and an agreement will be signed in the coming weeks.
He added that the government is satisfied with the outcome of the discussions held on Thursday between the ATP and government’s representatives.
In addition, in a press statement, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Employment announced that the school transport service will be back to normal from Friday, 3rd March.
